I always prefer using home made rasam powder and sambar powder rather than using store bought ones. The reason mainly because it has rich flavor and unique aroma which can never be replaced by Aachi,Shakti or any popular brands’ powders.
I generally prepare rasapodi once a month. Unlike sambar podi i make Rasam powder in smaller quantities and make them fresh at regular intervals. The following measurement yields around 250gms of rasam powder approximately. If you are preparing rasam for two then you need atleast 1 tablespoon (1tbsp) of this powder.
