Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Grate them finely using a grater.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a non-stick pan and add mustard seeds,curry leaves.
  3. Let them splutter.
  4. Add salt, turmeric, hing and chilli powder one by one.
  5. Now add in the grated apples.
  6. Saute for a minute, reduce the flame.
  7. Add sugar. Sugar helps in balancing the taste of this pickle.
  8. Let the apples get cooked for about 10-12 minutes.
  9. Do not add water.
  10. The color changes and once they are cooked, apples start to leave out from the pan.
  11. At this stage turn off the flame and mix the methi powder to the pickle.
  12. Mix well and keep it aside. Yummy, tangy apple thokku/pickle is ready to be served.
  13. You can serve it with rice, dosa or rotis.
