Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Soak Basmati Rice in water for about minutes. I used India Gate premium basmati rice. You follow the instruction mentioned incase if you are using any other rice brand 20 cans packages
  2. Chop onions length wise
  3. Crush saffron add little warm water to it half the strands
  4. The remaining saffron be added while cooking rice half of the strands can
  5. Heat ghee in a thick bottomed vessel
  6. Add bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cardamom cloves, one by one
  7. Sautxe9 for a minute and then add mustard seeds, jeera seeds, curry leaves
  8. Let them splutter. Add green chilies, chopped onions and continue sautxe9ing
  9. Now add water to the pan and bring it to boil 11/2 cups
  10. Add the remaining saffron saffron water and washed basmati rice strands,
  11. Do not over mix rice and water. The rice gets mashed and you will not be able to get the right texture
  12. Close the pan with a lid and wait until rice is completely cooked
  13. Allow the rice to cool down and serve it with raita or any gravy of your choice
