Instructions
Preparation of Sodhi :
  1. Pressure cook Moong Dal or Masoor Dal for upto 5 whistles
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan and add the veggies. Saute for two to three minutes
  3. Once the veggies are slightly roasted transfer them to a deep bottomed vessel
  4. Add 1/2 cup of water and let the veggies get cooked
  5. Add turmeric, salt, cumin powder and chilli powder. Give it a mix
  6. Now add 1/2 can coconut milk and simmer the flame
  7. Add cooked moongdal and let everything boil in a low flame
  8. Ensure the coconut milk doesnt get split
  9. So slowly stir inbetween
  10. Once you see the veggies almost cooked turn off the stove
  11. Let it cool down for few minutes and then squeeze the lemon juice
  12. Delicious Sodhi is ready to be served
Preparation of Thogayal :
  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. Add urad dal, red chilli, salt and hing
  3. Saute well. Once the Daal turns red in color add ginger pieces, grated coconut
  4. Mix everything together
  5. Let it cool down. Grind it to a smooth consistency by adding water
Preparation of Potato Poriyal:
  1. I made a simple Potato fry with Sambar Powder
  2. Pressure cook potato for upto 4 whistles
  3. Heat oil in a pan
  4. Add mustard seeds, urad dal
  5. Once the daal turns golden brown add salt,hing,sambar powder in the pan
  6. Add the pressure cooked potato pieces and mix everything together
  7. Let it get roasted for few minutes
  8. Serve the delicious potato poriyal with Sodhi & Thogayal
