Badhusha
My favorite sweet. Tried this for the first time during Diwali. Turned out good. With the following measurement you can prepare around 10-12 medium sized badhushas. Adjust your measurements according to your need.

Ingredients
For Sugar syrup :
Instructions
  1. First melt butter and keep aside. In a big bowl sieve maida. Mix it with sugar, baking soda
  2. Then add melted butter and oil. Mix well
  3. Maida crumbs will be formed. Now start adding water and knead gently Knead until a soft stretchable dough is formedLeave the dough for about 15-30 minutes.
  4. Then divide dough into small balls. Make small discs and slightly press the middle of the maida disc with your thumb.
  5. Heat oil in a kadai for frying the discs.
  6. Fry the discs until golden brown.
  7. In the meantime add water in a non-stick kadai and once it starts boiling add sugar.
  8. Let the sugar completely melts in water and then add honey, cardamom powder. Adding honey or even vanilla essence is your choice. You can even skip this step if you don’t like the flavor of vanilla.
  9. The sugar syrup will begin to thicken in 8-10 minutes.
  10. Start adding fried badhushas to the sugar syrup.
  11. At this stage you can turn off the stove. A mild white colored sugar layer will be there on Badhusha.
  12. Alternatively if you would want a sugar crystalline coat on badhusha, you can wait until crystals are formed(like how its shown below)
