Broken Wheat Oats Idli
Broken Wheat Oats Idli is a filling nutritious breakfast. No fermentation needed. Perfect for dinner too. You can also veggies of your choice to the batter.

Instructions
  1. Grind Oats in mixie to a fine powder. Heat a frying pan and dry roast Broken Wheat in a medium flame for few minutes.
  2. In a bowl add Oats powder, roasted broken wheat, instant yeast, yogurt and a pinch of salt
  3. Add enough water to it and make it as a thick batter consistency. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
  4. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes. If you don’t have yeast you can add 2 tablespoon Lemon Juice & 1 teaspoon Baking Soda in the batter. However you have to reat it for atleast 45-60 minutes.
  5. Now heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves and jeera seeds. Saute for a minute
  6. Add grated carrot, onion, finely chopped beans and tomato. Saute for a minute.Add chilli powder, hing and salt. Mix it all together. If you want you can also add some cashewnuts and frozen peas.
  7. Add this veggie mixture to the batter
  8. After approximately 10-15 minutes start making idlis. Grease the Idli with oil and fill it with batter
  9. Let it get steamed for atleast 12 minutes in medium flame. Then insert a tooth pick and see if it comes clean.
  10. Broken Wheat Oats Idlis are ready to be served. I served them with Garlic Podi and Coconut Chutney.
