Capsicum or Bell Pepper has a mild sweet pungent taste. It is believed to have anti ageing properties and it is rich in Vitamin C as well. We are being aware all these health benefits only recently (thanks to Google 😉 )
My mom used to add it in Potato masala and sometimes she prepares sambar out of it. We have never used it extensively. But then one day suddenly she prepared this rice for our Sunday Lunch and it was a surprise for us. The dish was so tasty. She got that recipe from our then neighbour in Coimbatore. Its been our favorite variety rice ever since 🙂 Its so easy to prepare & takes very less time for cooking.
You need to first make a capsicum based mix and then add it to rice. I have never used garam masala. However if you like the flavor , you can add a tbsp of Garam Masala while prepping the masala mix
